Alex Corina

Artist in Residence April 2022 to August 2022, with Laleh Kamalian.

Alex Corina

Alex Corina studied Printmaking at Bradford Regional College of Art. Moving to Liverpool 35 years ago he worked in Public Health and then the Civil Service as Head of Liverpool’s Home Office Drugs Prevention Team.

Art and creativity has been important to Alex throughout his working life. Drawing and painting at every opportunity kept him in touch with what he really wanted to do, until he went full time as an artist 20 years ago.

He is best known for the Mona Lennon the image used to brand and promote Liverpool's bid to become European Capital of Culture 2008.

He has exhibited in Liverpool, London, Leeds, Stoke, Bradford and sold his work worldwide.

“I’m delighted to be selected as artist in residence at the Everyman. The residency will enable me to build on and extend my artistic practice and interest in performance artists and Liverpool’s Cultural History. I look forward to exploring the theatre as a visual subject and getting to know all aspects of the Everyman behind the scenes and front of house. I’m excited and inspired by the challenge to capture the creativity, emotion and atmosphere that is the Everyman in all its aspects.
