Y’MAM (Young Man’s Angry Movements) is a one-man show by Majid Mehdizadeh based on his experiences with anger and the pressures of being a ‘man’. Told through a blend of spoken word, poetry, rap, monologue and music, it is a story that deals with toxic masculinity, lad culture and the pressures of growing up in today’s society for young men.

The show will be followed by a Q&A with Majid Mehdizadeh.

Majid has been writing since gaining a place on the Playwriting course at the Everyman in 2017/8. He wants to create work that has a genuine impact on how people approach life. He has been a professional actor for nine years, most recently playing series regular Jesse Donovan on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. In 2019 he received a seed commission from Everyman & Playhouse theatres New Works towards the development of Y’MAM
