How to Use a Den

Thu 15 Jul to Sun 31 Oct 2021

Digital

£5

A solo, audio play for adventurous and mischievous 5-7 year olds.

Tickets cost £5 and includes a link to listen to the audio play, plus PDF instructions on how to build a den.

Dens are great aren’t they? A safe place to be all by yourself! Except we’d like to come too.

This is an adventure for the best storytellers and makers. Along the way we’ll meet some magical creatures and treasure seekers but we have a very important job to do and only you can help! It's simple. Build a den, find the objects, grab your device and headphones and then press play on the link and the adventure will start! How to Use a Den is created by All Things Considered Theatre, commissioned by Everyman & Playhouse New Works.

How it all works

1) Show your child the ‘How to Build a Den’ sheet, which you can download from your purchase confirmation email
2) Build the den
3) Make sure they have their objects so they can reach them in the den as they will need these to make the story (you may want them to lean on something for the drawing)
4) Set up the device and headphones (it can help having the device outside the den if the headphone cable is long enough or turn the phone over so they can’t see the screen)
5) Make sure the headphones are the right way around on their head
6) Access the link from your purchase confirmation email
7) Press play when they are sat in the den with their objects and comfortable
8) Leave them to it
9) The performance lasts 35 minutes

This performance uses binaural sound so the sound will feel like it's all around them. The volume has been set for little ears.
