A Lovely Word returns to St James Gardens!
A Lovely Word bring you their classic open mic with featured poets, delivered in an unusual setting, with all the social distancing and safety measures in place. This event is in association with the fantastic Unusual Arts Sourcing Company, and supported by the Everyman & Playhouse.
Taking place in the ethereal St James Gardens just off Hope Street, A Lovely Word presents a small selection of open mic-ers (both live and streamed online!), and 3 featured poets (to be announced!). The whole event will start at 7.30pm and be streamed online here: https://youtu.be/fwqpZOwyw8M.
You can sign up for the open mic by emailing [email protected] (between 24th – 28th August), with a confirmation of your full name, mobile number and if you wish to do a physical or online performance.
There are only 10 physical open mic slots, and 3 online slots. The online slots will be projected onto a projector screen. For time reasons to do with sunset these are restricted to 4 minutes.
This event is a socially distanced one, and will feature clear seating spots. This will be managed by our stewards – listen to them! One member of your ‘bubble’ will be asked to provide a name/phone number for track and trace purposes – the same as in any restaurant or bar. Also – do bring your own blanket/chair for your comfort – if you so wish.
