Q&A with Fantastically Great Woman: Renée Lamb

This Christmas at the Playhouse, we've got the musical that everyone's talking about, from the producers of SIX The Musical: Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World. The show boasts a pretty spectacular cast, including Renée Lamb, one of the original queens from SIX, and a scouser. We chatted with Renée about the show, and how it feels to be performiug it in her home city this Christmas.

Hiya Renée! You've got a track record of performing in some amazing musicals, how did you get started in musical theatre?

I always loved watching musical films when I was a kid, but my real love for theatre started when I saw my first musical Cats at the Liverpool Empire. After that, I started at stage school and the rest is history!

Who are the women who have inspired you in your career?

My mum is my main inspiration. She’s so strong and brave. I want to be just like her. My main inspiration in terms of performing always has and will be Beyoncé. The first time I saw her live changed my life! I owe a good portion of my talent to her, from dancing around my bedroom to her songs as a kid!

Tell us about Fantastically Great Women and what audiences can expect?

It is a super inspiring and uplifting adventure that follows our 10 year old Jade’s journey in figuring out her place in the world. Along the way she meets some phenomenal women who all changed the worlds in different ways. Audiences should expect to leave wanting to change the world themselves!

What are you most looking forward to, about spending Christmas back in Liverpool?

Being with my family is so important to me and I feel so lucky that I get to be back at home over Christmas! I love Liverpool and it will forever have my heart.

Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World is at the Playhouse until 2 January, with prices starting at just £10. Book your tickets now.
