E&P to offer internship thanks to Mo Siewcharran Fund

2 February 2021

The Mo Siewcharran Fund has selected the Everyman & Playhouse as one of three organisations to receive their first grants of the year.

Set up in memory of former Nielsen Books director Mo Siewcharran, the fund supports internships for young talent from ethnicities that are under-represented in the creative industries.

Using the fund the New Works department will recruit an intern to support our drive to diversify the types of voices and stories that make it to stage.

Francesca Peschier, new works associate at the theatres, said: “We are over the moon to be the recipients of a grant from the Mo Siewcharran Fund. This funding will allow us to create an internship with real creative ownership in our New Works department for a person from an ethnically diverse background.

“Literary management is an overwhelmingly middle and upperclass white sector of the theatre industry and needs to urgently diversify to expand and broaden the work that reach our stages. We cannot wait to recruit someone who is passionate about stories, to help us find and tell new ones.”

The Mo Siewcharran Fund is administered by Creative Access and the application period to become our new Literary Assistant intern is open now.

Information on the role and how to apply is available on Creative Access' website
