James Fortune
Composer, A Clockwork Orange, The Big I Am

James is a composer for theatre, radio, television and film. As a singer and musician he has worked with Tom Jones, Kate Nash and Blondie.

James is a founding member of, and arranger/song-writer for, the award-winning vocal harmony band The Magnets and is the co-director of The Choir of Man.

Previous work for Everyman & Playhouse: The Conquest of the South Pole and Romeo & Juliet (Everyman Company 2017 season); The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Everyman & Shakespeare’s Globe); The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead (Everyman / UK Tour) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Everyman).

Theatre credits include: Pericles (National Theatre); My Brilliant Friend (The Rose Theatre Kingston); Boys Will be Boys (Headlong / The Bush); Shibboleth (Abbey Theatre); The Rolling Stone (Royal Exchange, Manchester); Teh Internet is Serious Business (Royal Court, London); The Beautiful Cosmos of Ivor Cutler (Vanishing Point / National Theatre of Scotland – Best Music and Sound Critics’ Award for Theatre in Scotland); Posh (Royal Court, London / West End); Dick Whittington and his Cat, Jack and the Beanstalk and Secret Theatre (Lyric Hammersmith) and Our Big Land (Romany Theatre Company).
