Digital Skills Bootcamp

We’re teaming up with LIVR, leaders in fully immersive 360° XR arts experiences, to offer training to Liverpool City Region artists.

***Deadline for submissions EXTENDED to Monday 7th March at midday.***

This free Digital Skills Bootcamp is funded by Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, and is aimed to upskill artists so they can become more comfortable and secure work opportunities within the growing XR economy within theatre and live performance.

The use of XR is increasing within the arts industry and direct training opportunities are scarce. This course will take participants through each stage of the XR industry, developing a knowledge base that will enable them to actively pursue and create XR opportunities.

You will:
-    Build an understanding of the industry and the technical creation process (including capture, postproduction and distribution)
-    Develop an idea that will work within a 360° capture
-    Have mentorship from LIVR to guide you through developing your idea
-    Opportunity to create a short prototype of your idea
-    Present your idea to a group of peers
There will also be opportunities to attend sessions around fundraising for digital projects, digital rights and support sessions for digital strategies.

Application requirements:
You must be a practicing company/artist(s) based in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Halton, Knowsley & St. Helens) that consider themselves to be storytellers or multi-disciplinary artists. You must have either a National Insurance number or your company must be registered.
You must also be free on the following teaching days:
-    Monday 14th March (Afternoon)
-    Tuesday 15th March (Afternoon)
-    Thursday 24th March (all day)
-    Thursday 31st March (all day)
-    Monday 4th April (afternoon)
All sessions take place in-person at the Everyman theatre

To express your interest:
Submit a short video via this link (it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just something on your phone or laptop will do) or email our Digital Producer Peter ([email protected]) explaining:
-    Why you think this learning will help you in your art practice
-    What idea you want to bring to the room and explore creating in 360°
