Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse | 24 Kitchen Street

BACK2BACK
Artist research & development grant

£500 to take your idea to the next stage with back2back support

As part of 24 Kitchen Street’s Black History Month programme this October, we are inviting expressions of interest from Black artists to receive a £500 artist development grant. The Back2Back grant will will also see you will be paired up with a Black creative professional most suitable to your practice, to help guide and connect you creatively to support beyond October. If you’re a creative in the early stages of your artistic career and are based in the Merseyside region, looking to develop an idea on your own terms, this might just be for you!

This opportunity is open to any theatrical discipline such as acting, dancing, writing, producing, directing and design. We are particularly interested in hearing from artists who are working locally but through an international lens, or who would benefit from gaining national connections with other artists and organisations that could help support and develop your work long term.

The grant is intended to allow you space and means to research and develop an idea towards enhancing your artistic practice. This could be covering fees for your own creative time, gaining access to workshops, new materials or paying for travel to expand your network or attend performances for example. There is no expectation to produce a work, but there is opportunity to exhibit or perform as part of 24 Kitchen Street’s Black Market on 24th should you wish to do so.

If you’re interested in this Artist Development Grant, please let us know by emailing the Everyman New Works team, Frank and Lydia, on [email protected] with a short, (no more than 250 words) paragraph telling us about:
- Yourself,
- Your work,
- How a Back2Back grant could support you,
Don’t forget to include any links to your website, or images / videos of your work.

DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST IS 26TH SEPTEMBER 2021
