Quiet Interiors
An exhibition by Caroline Race
26 Mar - 23 Apr 2024

Caroline Race is a painter and printmaker based in Liverpool. She trained in Fine Art at Bangor University and went on to finish her degree through The Wirral Met and John Moores. Caroline was trained by Professor Mike Knowles and David Loten RCA; who attended art school in Paris. She specialises in colour.

Her work has been published in a-n Magazine Artist's Newsletter. She was also shortlisted for the Wales Portrait award. As well as specialising in oil on canvas/linen and printmaking, Caroline also makes artists books which have been exhibited in America as well as touring this country.

Her work encompasses feelings of aloneness and isolation. This is not an uncomfortable or unhappy place, but merely the sense of place she is at when painting. Colour is the essence of the sense of place and the silence, the vessel is infinite in its context. As a painter, Caroline spends much of her time reflecting and challenging her visual language. Her paintings are gentle and quiet, reflecting aloneness. She works with oil on canvas and linen as well as paper lithograph on Japanese tissue incorporated into some of the oil paintings. Caroline also uses various metal leaf in her paper lithograph prints onto paper.

Artwork can be purchased from The Everyman Staff (card payment only). Please contact [email protected] or call 0345 017 6660 with any enquiries.
