Art in the Everyman // The End

An Exhibition featuring The End: a 1980s youth magazine
Tue 18 to Sat 29 Oct

The End was edited by Peter Hooton (vocalist of the band The Farm) and Phil Jones. The magazine was a cultural and imaginative response to the difficulties faced by young people in the Thatcher era. It contained music critiques, poetry, articles and interviews with a humorous edge. The End tackled various themes, introduced characters and happenings representing everyday young lives. From 1981 to 1988, twenty editions were published.

This exhibition shares artwork and extracts from The End and is based on the article written by Dr John Grant, Hope University, Liverpool.
