Liverpool Rambles

A series of urban research walks culminating in a performance collaboration with storyteller Anna Maria Murphy (Kneehigh Theatre)

When we collaborated with Kneehigh to create Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs) at the Everyman in 2014, we started work on Liverpool Rambles.

Anna Maria Murphy leads the Kneehigh Rambles programme working closely with young people and communities. While in Liverpool, she walked the Roads less Travelled in the city for days – often accompanied by writers and other strays – talking to people along the way and collecting stories. But the rambling didn’t stop there.

In association with Seven Streets and Scottie Road Writers, the project culminated in a storytelling night at the Everyman in October.

Ripping yarns, fabulous fables and true-as-I’m-sitting-here tales, the event saw Alan Barnes host eight writers – all with stories to spin and worlds to conjure – for the enchantment of a small audience.
