Barnsley, 1968. Young bullied Billy's only comfort is with the kestrel he finds, nurtures and trains. As Billy's relationship with the soaring bird grows, so too does his spirit and he soon discovers a whole new world beyond his backyard....
Lawrence Till's moving 1996 stage adaptation of Barry Hines’s novel A Kestrel for a Knave, takes its title from Ken Loach's Bafta Award winning 1969 British classic film version of the same book.
A co-production with The Touring Consortium, Kes will tour the UK in Autumn 2009. |
