YEP Marketers

Work with our award-winning marketing team to gain an understanding about marketing, create and design content and market events at the theatres.

You’ll do…

In the Autumn term you will meet the Marketing & Sales team and you’ll gain an understanding of their roles and how each role contributes to a marketing campaign and learn the basics of arts marketing. In the Spring term, you will build a campaign plan for the YEP Directors’ Festival in June and in the Summer term you will deliver your campaign and create a portfolio of your work.

At the end of the first year you get the opportunity to join for a second year and work on a project.

You’ll learn…
Alongside the award-winning marketing team, you’ll learn the basics of arts marketing including how to market to different types of audience members and consumers, how to manage a marketing budget, how data and analytics can help when building campaigns and the workings of a regional producing theatre. You'll also have the opportunity to design print, create online content, film interviews, trailers and promos, write blogs, press releases and show copy, plan and execute social media plans to promote theatre events.

You’ll be…
To apply, you must be aged 18 - 25 and be interested in working in marketing, design, publicity, blogging, website creation, press/PR or theatre. We want you to be committed and available to attend the weekly sessions, have energy, creativity and the ability to work with others as these are all vital skills to work in marketing.

You’ll need to know…
Weekly sessions will take place on Wednesdays, 5.30pm – 7pm at the Everyman [Hope Street].

You’ll be required to attend press nights and from time to time there will be extra sessions and you may be required to do some work outside of sessions but this will not be extensive.

All sessions are completely free of charge.

About applying

So if you’re aged between 18 & 25, interested in design, marketing, publicity, blogging, web site creation, theatre or PR, then this course is for you. The Programme commitment is for one year with the option of joining for a second year and is open to anyone aged 18-25.

Applications close 1 Oct 2018 with an interviews week commencing 8 Oct 2018.

Weekly sessions will take place 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the Everyman Theatre, Hope Street (Day TBC). You’ll be required to attend press nights and from time to time there will be extra sessions and you may be required to do some work outside of sessions but this will not be extensive.
