Girl and boy meet. Girl and boy fall in love. Girl and boy talk politics …

Joy Wilkinson’s Fair is a story of a whirlwind romance between two teenagers and how their relationship implodes once they discover each other’s political views. Set in the dizzying whirl of a fairground and shown through a rollercoaster romance, Fair offers a searing examination of today’s Britain and the conflict between multi-culturalism and right-wing nationalism. Inspired by the right-wing’s surge in popularity across England and beyond, this play demands us to look at racism in the face and ask why are young people turning to the right?
