YEP Producers present a Top Girls post-show debate courtesy of the Liverpool Debating Union
"This house supports Marlene's determination to pursue her career."
Wed 15 Mar after the 7.30pm performance
Downstairs at the Everyman

Join us Downstairs at the Everyman to be entertained as the Liverpool Debating Union members go head to head to debate whether the Top Girls protagonist, Marlene, was right to pursue her career against all odds. Two opposing teams of Liverpool students will present arguments for and against the provocation and will bring in a wide range of themes, examples and experiences to help demonstrate their points. There will be a chance for audience members to ask questions and give their own opinions and the evening will end with an audience vote to determine which team won the debate!

Please note that views expressed during the debate are chosen by the individual, not Everyman & Playhouse Theatres. Some views may be personal opinions but others may simply be used as a vehicle to move the debate forward. Liverpool Debating Union have an internal language advisor who provides guidance on how to structure arguments around sensitive topics without causing offence.

Find your Funny workshops are creative, comedy and laughter workshops for women to explore their comedic voice, develop their self -confidence and simply be silly in the company other like-minded women.

As the Everyman celebrates 40 years of Top Girls, alongside our regular Fem de la Femme comedy night we invite you to take some time out to play and explore. Finding our funny to tell our stories can sometimes be incredibly powerful, empowering and even healing. The workshops offer you the opportunity to take a break, laugh a lot and tap into your inner comedian in a very supportive and encouraging environment.

So whether you’re interested in getting up on stage or you just want to have a bit of fun (as all girls do) this workshop is for you. No experience necessary!
