The Wedding // Panel discussion

The Wedding at the Playhouse, Wed 21 Feb to Sat 24 Feb
The Wedding at the Playhouse, Wed 21 Feb to Sat 24 Feb

Gecko’s latest creation (The Wedding) is inspired by the complexities of human nature; the struggle between love and anger, creation and destruction, community and isolation. In a blur of wedding dresses and contractual obligations, their extraordinary ensemble of international performers guides audiences through a dystopian world in which we are all brides, wedded to society.

Panel discussion
Gecko will host a discussion exploring two key themes from the show – integration and social cohesion, and affecting change in the community. You'll have the opportunity to share your thoughts and questions with the team.

The panel will include:
-Gecko Artistic Director Amit Lahav
-The Wedding performer Chris Evans
-Ian Cook, an artist from Derbyshire who has been working with Gecko on physical theatre workshops to bring together young people from a local and migrant or refugee background
-Steph Rooney from Transition Liverpool, part of an international movement of communities coming together to reimagine and rebuild our world

When? Friday 23 February, following the 7.30pm performance
Where? Playhouse
Who for? Anyone
How much? Free, with a ticket for The Wedding
