5 minutes with Nadia Anim

What are the 3 things you love most in life?
Three things I love most are the people in my life that I hold dearest, food and feeling happy.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was growing up the first thing I wanted to be was Bond.

What makes you happy?
Other people being happy or making my parents proud. Second to that would be créme brulée or leché flan.

What makes you angry?
Predjudice, ignorance and general hate spreading.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?
I dont think I have any. Unless you count having white chocolate as my favourite type of chocolate, even though there's no chocolate in it.

What's exciting you about joining The Company?
I didn't go to drama school, so I'm very excited to observe and learn and develop my skills. I also had a lot of fun performing in Fiddler on the Roof last year and I look forward to working with and learning from the whole company.

What was your first experience of the Everyman?
Watching Twelfth Night and being blown away by the entrance of Viola and the Sea Captain. I still wonder about how it was done.

If you could invite anyone for a drink in the bar who would it be and why?
I think it would be an old family friend that I have not seen in a long time.

What's the most valuable lesson you've learned as an actor? Or the best advice received?
To not be afraid of ugly acting.

What’s your best memory from the last Everyman Company season?
Dean breaking the plank in Romeo & Juliet, it made me laugh a lot and it was handled very well.

What would be your dream part and why?
So many, off the top of my head - I think of Miranda from The Tempest. I think there are many layers to her, despite her secluded life and I would love to bring her to life.

Where in Liverpool would you take people to visit?
The Baltic Market is amazing for bubble waffles, so that would probably be the number one recommendation.
