Join us for a FREE Lunchtime Classics event at Waterstones, Liverpool ONE
Wed 16 Dec, 1pm

To celebrate the life and work of Shirley Jackson, whose stories have influenced writers such as Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, join us for a special discusion of her seminal psychological thriller: The Haunting of Hill House.

Actress Chipo Chung who plays Theodora in The Haunting of Hill House at the Playhouse will talk about her experiences of the stage version of the story, preparing for her role and what she has learnt about Jackson from being in the play.

Chipo will be joined by Dr Mari Hughes-Edwards, a Reader in English Literature at Edge Hill University, who will be talking about Jackson’s original novel, the tradition of the gothic and ghost stories at Christmas.

Lunchtime Classics is a regular free event at Waterstones, Liverpool One. The talks normally last for 45 minutes.
