With limited funds, it’s difficult for our school to visit the theatre. Can you help?
Yes. We’re proud to offer competitive education rate tickets to all school and college groups. We also offer a free teacher ticket for every ten seats booked. You can enjoy further discounts and financial benefits through Education Partnerships.
We can’t get out of school during the day and 7.30pm start times are tricky. Can you help?
We regularly programme Twilight performances with school groups in mind. The earlier 5.30pm start time allows students to remain after school hours while avoiding a late finish. You can check when Twilight performances are scheduled on our show pages.
How do you recommend we introduce our students to theatre?
If your school group is largely new to theatre, we can arrange an introductory activity prior to your visit which can take place either in your school or at our theatres. We’re more than happy to discuss any concerns or requirements that you may have beforehand as we want to make sure you have the best possible experience with us.
I am looking for an educational activity to accompany our forthcoming theatre visit. What do you suggest?
We run Page to Stage sessions to accompany all of our e&P productions. Page to Stage allows you to discover how a particular scene is staged, how the production was created and what themes are involved. Sessions cost £3 per head and take place in the auditorium before a matinée performance.
Backchat is tailored specifically for schools and younger audiences. These free post-show discussions are a great opportunity to get a more detailed insight into the theatrical process and ask any questions you may have.
I’m studying at a local university. What can you offer?
We have strong links with Liverpool John Moores University Drama Department, Hope Drama Department, Liverpool University School of English and Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. Students enjoy various benefits including welcome events, specialist workshops, work placements and access to industry professionals.
All students aged 25 and under can receive £5 tickets to all shows by becoming a Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) member. YEP also offers regular information and opportunities to get involved with our work.
My students need to understand the business of theatre. Can you help?
We have a wealth of technical expertise backstage and are happy to introduce students to the work we do. Sessions range from a brief introduction to in-depth technical workshops. The following sessions are offered:
Just the Job Tour
A tour of the theatre, including backstage, featuring talks from members of the different departments that make up the company.
A hands-on, intensive day in which students can specialise in a specific theatre production skill and work with an experienced practitioner on a project.
What are Education Partnerships and how can I get involved?
Becoming a partner makes your fantastic commitment to us publicly recognised. It makes it easier to book tickets, entitles you to free theatre tours and workshops and much more. With three specially tailored pathways available, there are options to suit everyone:
Pathway 1 for schools who tend to book lots of tickets
Pathway 2 for schools who book and want specially tailored theatre activities for students
Pathway 3 for primary or special schools
