What's on

Build a play

We’re going to help you build your very own play!

Over the next few weeks, our New Works Associate Frank will take you through the building blocks of making a play. We’ll be using some tips and tricks from our years of working with playwrights to get those creative ideas flowing.

We’ll release a new mission every Tuesday & Thursday which will give you some writing prompts designed to work as stand-alone exercises or to build into a full play.  So make sure to follow the Everyman & Playhouse Twitter or Facebook and check every Tuesday & Thursday morning for your new mission!

You can ask questions or tag us in your work (a picture of your story OR maybe you want to video you performing it) on Twitter using the hashtag #EveryPlayTime. Whilst we can’t give feedback to everything, we’ll try our best!

What will I need? You’ll need plenty of paper and something to write with *or* do it on your tablet or computer! You’ll also need buckets of creativity, spades of courage and a sprinkling of charisma.

The Lowdown
Build a play is suitable for all ages and designed with the Key Stage 2 English Creative Writing and Drama aims in mind.

All the available tasks are below; we’ll continue to add more every Tuesday and Thursday. Teachers, carers or parents may want to give the tasks directly to the children or they may want to talk through the task with children first.
