Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme - Sarah Van Parys

RTYDS
We’re delighted to have former YEP Director Sarah Van Parys working with us on a three month placement as part of the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme.

The placement, funded by the Arts Council, allows Sarah to take part in a programme of training which includes assisting on in-house productions as well as gaining experience in all aspects of the theatres operations.

Having assisted e&P Associate Director Nick Bagnall on The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead at the Everyman, Sarah will now have the opportunity to work on other projects and shadow other staff members to gain a better understanding of the workings of a regional theatre.

Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz said “This invaluable scheme offers an extraordinary opportunity for a talented young director to be part of a regional theatre and to learn not only how to hone their skills as an artist but what it is to be an artist that is part of the fabric of a theatre that reflects its place and time.”

Sarah completed the Young Everyman Playhouse YEP Directors scheme in 2015. Her credits for the Everyman & Playhouse include Chair and Forever and Anon. Her other credits include New Dawn Fades (All Roads Meet, UK Tour); Committed (Liverpool Irish Festival, Lantern Theatre); The Road to Skibbereen (Write Now Festival, Unity Theatre 2013 / Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014 with Bee Loud and Straylight Australia); Inference (Organised Chaos, The Kings Arms); Trolley Shaped Bruise (Makin Arts, Unity Theatre); The Morning After (The Annexe Writers, The Lantern Theatre); Liverpool and the Titanic (Theatre in the Rough) and Pipedreams (Falling Doors Theatre, Lantern Theatre).

Sarah has also recently set up her own theatre company, Falling Doors Theatre.
