Spirits of the Stone

For our Kirkby Community Production, the Theatre and Community Department worked in partnership with Knowsley Arts and Museums Service.   Liverpool playwright Laurence Wilson (Lost Monsters) and director Gav Cross spent time with people in Kirkby to research local stories.  They even planted themselves on a sofa chair in Kirkby town centre to collect tales from passers by!

Following open auditions, the play was performed by a cast of 20 Kirkby residents aged from 14 to 83 on the Everyman stage on 17 & 18 April 2009.
