Why support the Everyman and Playhouse?

Our funding bodies and audiences provide the grassroots support that ensures our survival and we are sincerely grateful for it, however if we are to fulfil our ambitions for these theatres to flourish and blossom for future generations, we must raise more funds than ever before.

Since Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse began producing once again in 2004, the theatres have been on an extraordinary journey and Liverpool theatres are now firmly back on the national theatrical map. In 2008 we produced the core theatrical programme of the European Capital of Culture to great acclaim and capacity houses, and the theatres creative energy has continued to grow since that extraordinary year. 

The generous support of individuals, businesses and organisations make it possible for us to create more spectacular work on both our stages; to nurture a new generation of actors and writers; to bring the best theatre makers to our city; to take Liverpool theatre far beyond home turf; and to reach out to our communities so that theatre can touch the lives of everyone on Merseyside.
